There are quite a few varieties of this lovely plant which grows wild in the Mediterranean –L. officinalis is said to be the most odorous. Some people with low blood pressure may feel a bit dull and drowsy after using this oil. It is an emmenagogue too, so best avoided in the early months of pregnancy.
